Technology with its advent has taken a
toll even in the field of marketing at last. E-mail also known as
electronic mail, is now turning out as an indispensable medium of
chiropractic marketing.
The internet as whole has a wide marketing area and endless
possibilities for smart chiropractic marketers. E-mails are very
techno-savvy, effective and fast. This is the reason that more and more
professional service providers like chiropractors, dentists and family
practitioners are using email.
Over the years people and corporate businesses have realized the
advantages of e-mail marketing and how it can affect their bottom line.
There are many advantages of utilizing e-mail marketing and some of the
benefits are:
Speed:
This is the main factor as to why e-mail marketing is considered better
over other medias of marketing. It’s fast and produces instantaneous
results. Along with delivering your message at high speeds it can
transfer large amounts of information such as text, audio and video. It
just takes you a second to send your email to your patient lists.
Reach:
E-mail marketing knows no boundaries. You can develop lists to email
from your patient database, area business and community newsletters.
Inexpensive:
E-mail marketing at this point of internet evolution is cheap. In fact
if you have an email address it’s free. You don’t have to incur any
special or extra cost to send your message via email. What you do need
is your message!
Effective:
E-mail marketing is very effective. Most people these days have a
computer and use email as a secondary form of communication. When
emailing to your patient database they will open and read your message
because they know and trust you. Although its true that you have
already created a relationship with them be sure not to abuse their
email address. Don’t send them junk! No one likes spam or wasting time!
You have spent a lot of time and money on earning their trust and
developing a professional relationship with them so be careful with
what you send. Make sure that there is value for them and cultivate the
relationship you already have.
Personalized marketing:
E-mail marketing gives you another chance to educate the patient and to
let them see you in a different way.
Personalizing your emails will go
a long way towards building rapport and lasting relationships.
E-mailing ideas:
Here is a very brief list of ideas that you can use for e-mailing strategies:
• Send new patients confirmation of their appointment with mapquest link for directions
• Follow up with new patients regarding office policy
• Monthly newsletter
• Notice of discount or special sale on products
• Notice of upcoming health care class
• Notice of in office seminar on a special topic ie. Fibromyalgia, Carpal Tunnel…
• Create educational series of emails ie. Do’s & Don’ts, correct sitting or sleeping tips…
• Missed appointment email
• Patient reactivation email
• Announce new service
• Announce new office staff
• Holiday Greetings
• Birthday wishes
Monetize your e-mail
A strange concept for some! But you need to learn how to monetize your
newsletter. Monetizing your newsletter or email can be broken down into
two categories.
First, always add a paragraph asking for referrals. If you don’t ask, you won’t get!
Second, whether you have physical products for sale on the internet or
not you should have a special offer for your subscribers (email
database). If you have a shopping cart system on your website simply
direct them to the correct URL or web address where they can purchase
these products. If you don’t have a shopping cart you can find an
excellent one at 1shoppingcart.com and then use Paypal as your merchant
vendor. Paypal will also accept credit cards.
If you don’t have physical products online simply direct your readers
to come in to the office. Make sure that you motivate … use phrases
like, this week only, sale ends on…, the first 5 get…, 5 left at this
special price, you get the idea. Don’t put an open end offer up
anywhere. I had a new patient recently bring a coupon out of a
telephone book from 17 years ago…uggh!
If you are computer savy then you could use basically any email program
to get your message out to your email list. But if you want simplicity
